Surgeon
Dr Charles Mosse is the founder and director of Canberra Bariatric, established in 2003. He is trained in HPB (Liver and Pancreas), Upper GI, Transplant, Advanced Laparoscopic, General and Bariatric Surgery.
Dr Mosse is the Clinical Director of General Surgery at The Canberra Hospital and the Director of the HPB Unit at The Canberra Hospital. He is appointed to the Court of Examiners of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and a Member of the Australian & New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgery Society (ANZMOSS).
Dr Mosse has operated on thousands of patients over the last 20 years and pioneered many laparoscopic operations in Canberra. He is the most experienced Bariatric Surgeon in the ACT and remains focused on patient safety and long term outcome.
Siva Gananadha
Surgeon
Siva is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and a member of Australia and New Zealand Metabolic & Obesity Surgery Society (ANZMOSS), with expertise in bariatric surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery and pancreatic surgery. He has been with Canberra Bariatric for over 10 years and is a Senior Staff Specialist at The Canberra Hospital and Associate Professor of Surgery at the Australian National University.
Alice Mosse
Bariatrician
Alice is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and has worked in General Practice in Canberra since 2005. She is involved in the operative care and ongoing post-operative management of our patients. Alice is focused on ensuring that our patients are assisted to optimise their health outcomes.
Mari Harrison
Dietitian
Mari is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with nearly 20 years nutrition experience, including clinical work and teaching. In 2004, she started working with people opting for bariatric surgery, and later helped form the nutrition services for Canberra Bariatric when the clinic first opened.
Mari encourages individuals to develop eating patterns that are both nourishing and enjoyable after bariatric surgery. She has a particular interest in eating behaviours and mental health, and believes that a healthy relationship with food is important to overall health and wellbeing.
Felicity Copeland
Dietitian
Felicity has over 10 years of experience as a Clinical Dietitian, having worked in hospitals on the Central Coast and in Canberra, as well as in private practice. She has an extensive knowledge of nutrition and dietetics, and considers all aspects of the client when tailoring advice and recommendations. She prides herself on her friendly, approachable nature and her ability to work with clients to overcome barriers and build a healthy relationship with food. Her interest areas include gut health (eg. IBS) and mental health.
